Ganache Tart
The weather
has been so beautiful lately that I haven't really been inside long
enough to bake. Crazy, right? So here is a simple no bake recipe
for all of my chocolate-loving friends out there. Enjoy!
Crust
Ingredients:
1 ¼ cup
chocolate sandwich cookies such as Oreos, Newman-O's, etc.
½ cup
butter, melted
Ganache
Ingredients:
4/5 cup
heavy cream
7 oz. dark
chocolate, chopped
¼ cup
butter
Garnish:
4 chocolate
sandwich cookies cut in half, quarters, or chopped
chocolate
chips
Remove
cream from cookies and set aside for some other use. Crush the
cookies into fine crumbs and add them to the pan/bowl with the melted
butter; combine. Pour the mixture into a tart pan and press evenly
all around the bottom and up the sides of the pan. Freeze the crust
while preparing the ganache.
Bring cream
to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, add chopped
chocolate and butter, then let rest for 5 minutes. Stir until well
combined and then pour into the prepared crust. Garnish and chill
for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight. Remove from tart pan and
serve.
